The new 33-room Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa and The Meridian Restaurant offer guests a spectacular view of Haystack Rock. The rooms come complete with glass-wall showers and spacious soaking tubs with a view. The beds are soft and cozy with a Pendleton wool blanket draped at the foot. A gas fireplace is located next to modern and colorful seats with a flat-screen television mounted overhead, if you can tear yourself away from your private balcony.
When you’re thirsty from playing in all that sand, The Pelican Pub & Brewery serves up local ales with beach themed names like Surfer’s Summer Ale, Tsunami Stout, and Seahops Pale Ale. The Pelican Pub & Brewery also offers Beer Cuisine and Brewmaster’s Dinners to go along with that ale. Feeling more winey over brews? Sample wines at Twist where they claim to be located in a “quaint little drinking town with a fishing problem.” Want to eat in an iconic building? The Riverhouse Inn Nestucca Restaurant is back open with a locally sourced menu.
Pacific City, Oregon is home to breathtaking views of Haystack Rock from the wide beach at Cape Kiwanda. Pacific City has been home to the Dory Fishing Fleet, the only one of its kind in the lower 48 states. The fishermen launch and land their boats from the beach, bringing their ocean catch in to local restaurants.
