Whether you attended Beaver School, taught there, have family connections to the school, or are simply curious about what’s planned for the campus, this afternoon is an opportunity to reconnect with neighbors, hear local stories, and learn how this beloved building will once again serve the community.

What to Expect

• Hear stories and memories from former students, teachers, and community members.
• Learn about the future of the campus as The Schoolyard Flats, a mixed-use redevelopment that will transform the former school into approximately 30 affordable apartment homes alongside community amenities including a Tillamook County Library branch, community gymnasium, child care facility, commercial kitchen, maker spaces, and outdoor gathering spaces.
• Join a guided tour of the former school building.
• Enjoy a complimentary scoop of ice cream.

The Schoolyard Flats is reimagining the former Beaver Middle School campus as a vibrant community hub that combines affordable housing with spaces for learning, recreation, childcare, entrepreneurship, and community connection. Developed by South Tillamook County residents Kevin and Katie Shluka—the team behind The Kingfisher Apartments in Pacific City—the project aims to preserve an important local landmark while creating new opportunities for the future.
