DESCRIPTION:Every Friday\, volunteers gather on LNCT lands near Manzanita\, Nehalem and Wheeler to protect and restore habitat in the lower Nehalem watershed. We would love to see new faces out on the land!\n\n\n\nThese work parties are beginner friendly and an opportunity to learn about the engineering of hiking trails. We will be working on uneven ground\, bending\, and moving small rocks and brush during this process. Tools and gloves are provided\, new volunteers welcome and no prior experience needed. Join as frequently as you please.  Email shane@nehalemtrust.org for weekly updates on where to meet.\n\nAlder Creek Farm and Natural Area’s Nehalem Teaching Trail already supports an impressive variety of native plants and simulated ecosystems for community learning—but we’re looking to grow. This short trail will extend educational access into a different ecosystem and connect to the Natural Area’s pollinator meadow. We hope it will also add some variety to habitat access for bird watchers who visit the farm as a part of the Oregon Coast Birding Trail.

DESCRIPTION:Participants can purchase clay\, plus there are a number of bisque pieces available to buy and glaze as well.  All experience levels are welcome and a Studio Host is available to answer questions and offer tips.  Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.  Studio fees are $2 per hour\, which includes glazing and firing up the finished product.  Clay is $2 per 1 pound section. DESCRIPTION:Join Friends of Netarts Bay Watershed\, Estuary\, Beach\, and Sea (WEBS) staff and volunteers September the 19th for another satisfying day cleaning up the beaches from Cape Lookout State Park to Cape Meares.  \nWEBS has been hosting cleanups for decades with SOLVE\, an environmental non-profit that supports volunteer-led environmental stewardship throughout Oregon.  Fall offers the perfect opportunity to come together as a community and restore our beaches after visitors and locals enjoyed spending summer days on our coastal shores.  \n“Clean up the beach with friends or family\, or expand your community by teaming up with fellow volunteers. Volunteers of all ages will find the beach cleanup fun\, educational\, and rewarding\,” shares Marina Dreeben\, WEBS Stewardship Coordinator.  \nWe will meet at the Schooner Restaurant at 12 p.m. to check in and pick up buckets\, gloves and trash grabbers.  If you have these supplies at home\, we encourage you to bring them.  Thanks to the amazing crew at The Schooner Restaurant and Lounge\, all volunteers will receive a coupon for 10% off dinner on the evening of the cleanup\, so be sure to stick around for a delicious\, locally-sourced meal while you enjoy the rest of the afternoon of satisfying beach cleanup! \nAs you head out to clean up or just explore\, it is important to remember that ocean shores can be dangerous. Avoid logs in the water\, keep your distance from marine mammals\, and never turn your back on the ocean!
